Plans for a new beer bar in a Wiltshire Market Place have been given the green light.
Last month Wiltshire Council granted planning consent that will allow the owners of The Prince of Wales Micropub, on Station Hill in Chippenham, to open a new venue.
This new bar will be located at the former Waverley Cafe and Royal Ashoka restaurant premises in the Market Place.
The council has approved a planning application to change the use of the building from a licensed restaurant to a craft beer bar.
In its decision, the council added that additional applications will be required before making any alterations to the unit that require planning permission.

The successful Wiltshire micropub, which first opened its doors in 2020, hopes the new premises will be ready to go by this summer.
Speaking after securing the building, a spokesperson for the business said: “We are delighted to announce, that after a lengthy search, we have secured a second venue in Chippenham.
“We feel very privileged to have the opportunity to bring such an iconic building back to life.
“As always, there are a few administrative matters to attend to but we're aiming to open ready for the height of summer.”
The proposed venue has received widespread support from residents, customers, and town councillors during the planning process.
